Christopher M. Guerrero, M.D. received his medical training in Manila, Philippines and has completed three residencies - two in Chicago, IL and and one in Maywood, IL. He belongs to several medical associations and has received many outstanding achievement awards in his medical practice.
Dr. Guerrero started his education in Pre-Medicine at University of the East, Manila, Philippines, 1967 – 1971. HE got his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Quezon City, Philippines, 1971 – 1976.
He took a Rotating Internship at Central Luzon General Hospital, Pampanga, Philippines, 1976 – 1977 and was a Rural Health Physician in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, July 1977 – December 1977. He began a General Practice Residency at Ravenswood Hospital Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois in April 1978 – March 1981. He also has an Anesthesiology Residency from Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois, (July 1980 – June 1981) and another Anesthesiology Residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois (July 1981 – May1982)
Employment: Dr. Guerrero started a Family Practice (Solo) at St. Elizabeth Professional Plaza Building in Chicago, IL in July 1982 and has continued his practice through to the present, He has hospital affiliations: Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, both in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Guerrero was Chairman Credentials Committee1989 – 1991. He was Vice-Chairman, Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Committee 1985-1987. He is also a member Member and has been on the Executive Committee1989-1991, a member, Bylaws Committee in 2009,
Dr. Guerrero has made notable contributions and is recognized as creative and done innovative work in the following: 1. Clinical Investigator – “Treatment of Presbyopia on Indigenous Filipino Population”, 2008. 2. Co-author – “A Model Health Outreach in an Indigenous Filipino Population”, presented at the Third Annual Department of Family Medicine Scholarship Day; College of Medicine, University of Illinois, Chicago, Illinois, USA, May 28,2008 3.Coordinator – Collaboration of an on-line Honors Class between the University of Illinois, College of Nursing and St. Mary’s University, College of Nursing, 2008.
